Do You Heed The Warnings?

Exodus 9:21 –

But those who paid no attention to the word of the Lord left theirs out in the open.

Now with this passage, God was going to send a plague of hail to Egypt. Many people heard that it was coming and believed and then took cover. Others did not and died. How does this apply to today?? There are plenty of “issues” and “plagues” which today are preventable. The first that comes to mind is AIDS, there is an easy way to avoid it yet people choose not to listen to logic and think it could not happen to them. “Don’t touch, it’s hot”, “wear eye protecting when doing that”, “look both ways” … on and on we have “instructions” given to us, yet we ignore them and burn our fingers.

When talking the bible, we must also look at accepting Jesus as Lord, believing He is who he said He is, and that He died and rose again for our salvation. Doing this is a simple way to avoid eternal death, but how many ignore this? “There is no God who will rain hail down on us” or for today “there is no way God would allow people to die like that” are mantras of many. The problem is the warnings are very clear; we just need to take them serious.

Now, I know all our family believes that Jesus is the son of God sacrificed for our sins, but how about your friends? Will you allow them to stand in the hail storm or will you help them in their path to salvation? Make sure they get the protection or are you going to leave them to someone else? You don’t have to thump your Bible, but a demonstration of the joy is often enough to strike up a conversation.
