How Stubborn Can One Get? How About YOU?

Exodus 8:32 –

But Pharaoh again became stubborn and refused to let the people go.

By this time Moses had made his staff a serpent, turned all the water into blood, released frogs, gnats and flies. God had protected the Israelites in Goshen by having them miss many of the plagues. And still Pharaoh still refuses to let the people go!!

Wonder what someone must be thinking if they have been thirsty for a week, dealt with frogs, gnats and flies everywhere and it’s obvious the easy way out is let the people go. Pharaoh’s acts affect millions, who must endure the same plagues. Did not one person or advisor come forwards and say “cave-in” to their demands? Have we ever been stubborn at all? I know I have … maybe not as stubborn, but pretty darn close.

I can only imagine that “logic” must have taken over and how since his magicians could do the first few “tricks” the rest were still “parlor tricks” and not signs from God. Just before in verse 28 Pharaoh allowed the people free. Did he said what he did to get them to stop the plague, with no intention of letting the people go? What do you think?

Now the question turns to you, when your pride is challenged and God is telling you to do something. Do you submit or fight?? Many times God will not punish us with plagues, but we WILL miss something good God had planned for us. What we are learning in all this is don’t fight God, He tends to never lose;-)

Proverbs 24:33-34 – “A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.”
