This is a project that was started in 2008 and finished the first read in 2012 for helping my children study the Bible. I had just finished my first reading when my family was upset I had not shared any of my reading with them, so for my second time through I am using the NLT and sending them an email highlighting a verse and giving my thoughts.
You will find my “thoughts” are non-traditional and often go off on tangents many theologians would not wander. As I read and gain understanding I will clarify a position or belief. Also, I do not just stay in the NLT, NIV or the KJV. I sometimes try to get the translation straight from the original Hebrew or Greek. Granted I do not read either, I use other resources to try to get a clearer translation from the original texts. Sometimes you’ll notice I start with questions and end with revelations about the actual meaning.
For you the reader, I want you to see why it’s important to read the Bible and it’s fun! It’s important to build a relationship with God and to ensure you are in His will. Also, it helps you notice false teachings. I try to answer questions and explore common theologies and push them until I can resolve them in my mind.
