Exodus 12:31 –
Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron during the night. “Get out!” he ordered. “Leave my people—and take the rest of the Israelites with you! Go and worship the Lord as you have requested.
Guess Pharaoh was at the end of his rope. Guess he did not want to see what would happen next, finally he respected God. What was your final moment of submission?? What did it take to get you to say, “ok God, I give up?” How many times have you done that?? How many more times in the future will you do that?? It’s something we all go through over the years, granted not as drastic as Pharaoh, but the decisions we are making does not affect an entire nation either.
As I reflect on my past I can think of a few times this has happened. One is when I kept praying to work with Katy and to be able to run a business with her, My conditions were simple, win the lottery so we did not have to worry about how the business did! Gods conditions were ok, do it … now … come on … now … ok here is a layoff, now do it!! I was convinced we were going into the poor house … 7 years later I found out God was with us the whole time. Just got tired of me asking for a big win to get my desires…
Actually, I can think of more than a “few” times this has happened. When I lived a “promiscuous” life, outside God’s will, I was “nudged” into marriage and stability. Granted it took a pregnancy, but God did what was required to get me off the path I was on. After almost 20 years I see that God’s had was in my life correcting the entire time. The key point here is don’t fight God like Pharaoh because He will win;-)
