Genesis 6:6 –
So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
Wow, that’s disappointment!! How many times have we finished something and said this stinks and just wanted to trash it?? We junk a model, a drawing, a bicycle shop, a batch of beer, a (fill in blank) … when it is not what we expected, and for the most part not much changes. Imagine “junking” the world??
Granted from verse 5 we most likely did not think this about our project what God though about his – “that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil” … think about the projects or things you have trashed … ever thought this about them?? God was bummed out that he made this world and it turned into evil!!
God found ONE person who he trusted … and gave him a job. Build a boat!! Save yourself, your family and a mating pair of animals … and he did it. Having watched Evan Almighty, it shows just how CRAZY Moses must have looked!!
What do we see when looking at this story and what do I wonder?? What I wonder is just how bad was it?? We see where we are at today with everything and what did God see then that he does not see now?? Is there some good and therefore He is not quitting yet?? Or is it NOT as bad?? Then you have to wonder, how bad was it then if we are not there yet??
It’s YOUR job to be faithful and just … only YOU can change the world you live in by faith in God!! Yes, YOU are just the body, God WILL works through you … so hold on for the ride, it’s gonna be crazy!!
