Micah 5:2 –
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past.
Deep in the Old Testament we find this … This definitely foreshadows the coming of Jesus written some 700 years before Christ came. This is where the “stories” in the bible get interesting … how could someone write about this person that many years before he was born? Did he get lucky or was it more than luck? One can read the bible with many views, one is it’s fact, one is it’s a guide book with stories to help us understand, it could be viewed as a story .. how ever you see it, it has many different authors and all the writings are tied together … the way the new testament meshes with the old is fascinating. Either the many authors has an interment detailed knowledge of the old writings … or there was something else driving these events. Dig and find the truth …
Is this book 100% true? How does anyone know … this is where faith lies. Was man created from dust … or did man evolve from monkeys without God … was evolution Gods way of doing things? The ironic thing is that either can never be scientifically proven … I figure I’ll just ask God after I have left this earth.
Now my homework for everyone … and something I have been trying to find for quite some time. What is the origin of the old testament? More specifically how they relate to the Jewish faith … the first 5 books of the Christian bible are the Torah … but how is the rest of the old testament viewed but the Jews??
Proverbs 15:28
“The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words.”
(Or think before you speak;-)
