As I explore the occult and things missing from the modern
Bible, I wonder what is real and what is not. The Apocrypha were OT writings
that were in the original English translations, but for some reason were
removed in the 1880’s. The Gnostic Gospels were rejected by the canon and are
often called the New Testament Apocrypha. The interesting thing is there are 52
texts which are from the early church, dated between 2nd to the 4th
century. Now they were rejected because they were too far removed from the
original events unlike the current canon which had documents dated less than
100 years from the time of the events.
Now all this ties into the current “religion” we call “Christianity”
which started out very loosely organized until Rome adopted the movement and it
went from an underground movement to a state sanctioned one. The concern has
come when man becomes more and more involved, self-interest starts to creep in
and things become corrupt. The Geneva Bible was revolutionary, not because it
was wildly different but because it’s footnotes rejected the Pope and the
political system as having any authority over our relationship with God. The KJV
was adopted in 1611 to remove those footnotes. Although not vastly different to
the Geneva, it became the state sanctioned Bible which ironically is the one
now touted by “KJV only” churches whose original founders rejected the KJV.
Some things that I have recently been exposed to that
concern my understanding of the Gospel as we know it today. One which is huge
is the tomb of Jesus’ family. Found in 1980 and just recently looked at in
detail the finding is they found Joseph’s family tomb which included both Mary’s,
Jesus’ brothers, Jesus’ child and Jesus himself. If this claim is true,
Christianity as we know it today would be thrown on its head.
Or would it be? The idea Jesus did not have a wife is
doctrine the Catholic church had for their priests and is implied in the Gnostic
Gospels. The idea Jesus’ body did not ascend into heaven is something most
could not accept. But would it really be a big deal. We have always tried to
make God into our image with a meat suit, but what if Jesus’ ascension was his
spirit which was visible to all? I wonder if the bones in Jesus son of Joseph’s
ossuary had broken wrists and feet. That was never disclosed in the documentary.
So my quest for truth continues and down more rabbit
holes! I just wonder if truth is lost and those protecting their power miss the
second coming of Jesus.
