I say neither, since both system end up elevating the “ruling elite” and tend to dismiss God. Both systems could be supported in scripture, but have been bastardized by man since both elevate men and not God. I think a true “Christian” system was similar to what was started here in the US before man took over. We had communal living where the harder workers were justly rewarded and gave back to the community.
It’s different than today’s “give back” idea is buying that yacht which will employ others and continue the system of capitalism. But it becomes corrupted since getting a “deal” that squeezes the margins out of the yacht builder and sellers so one enjoys the fruits of their labor other than the purchaser.
I dealt with this at the bike shop where our margins would be crushed hoping that we would get “follow on” business or advertising, which never materialized. So we busted our butts and walked away with huge debt. Sure we made some mistakes, but the “consumers” mentality of getting the best deal is driving industry away from our country and making only a few wealthy. Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand at work … or is Satan driving the lust for money which creates this “Hand”?
