In reading and studying the armor of God from Ephesians 6:10
– 20 we end with the need for prayer in verse 18:
Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
Prayer is key since one could argue that since God knows
all, why should we ask him for help? While technically true, God is not looking
at making us His puppets so He wants a communication from us. He wants prayer!
Along with this He wants gratitude! So give thanks along
with your prayer, but I digress.
Prayer along with others is a very powerful force. It has
done amazing things including bringing me out of a drug induced coma while the
nurses continued to increase the drugs keeping me in the coma.
We can only fight evil with prayer since a hand to hand dual
is close to impossible since we would be relying on ourselves and not God. The
key is when fighting the unseen, GO to the supreme unseen force in the
universe, God.
So pray on everything. Ask for guidance when
addressing non-believers. Ask for protection from those “fiery darts”. And ask
for blessings, needs and desires. The verse is saying pray always … for everything.
So connect with God over the mundane, the important and the selfish. REMAIN in
contact at all times. Think of God always!
