Ecclesiastes 6 –
Ecclesiastes 6 has a bunch of interesting comments about wealth and it’s meaning … Ecclesiastes 6:9 was the nugget caught me today:
Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don’t have. Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
You can look at this many ways … first just relax and stop daydreaming about stuff you don’t have. Now being a “stuff” kinda person without that desire how can one motivate to go to work?? Well we know that our work and doing it well is a living testament. And the Lord has promised to provide our needs and even what our heart desires … so what does this mean?? I think it’s stop FOCUSING on the desires … don’t let the consume you! If you want it and realize if you follow God he will reward you, just relax and do what needs to be done.
The long and short of it is simple, desire what you want, but don’t let it consume you. I think of CR250F’s, foster kids, MacPro dual Quad Xeon’s, Nikon D300’s, Gail Force’s … ________________ (fill in your blank) … are something that God wants us to enjoy, just don’t stop enjoying what you HAVE today because of what you WANT tomorrow.
From yesterday thoughts Ecclesiastes 6:11 “The more words you speak, the less they mean. So what good are they?” … enough said;-)
