1 John 4:1 –
Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
As we mature and grow in the Sprit this becomes more apparent. You need to not just trust people you hear and read on the internet*** you need to double check them in your bible. The problem with many is they have been told “fiction” for so long it becomes “fact” to them. Our main focus is not what someone is “preaching” … it’s our PERSONAL relationship with God!!
Talk with Him, walk with Him, do His will … words which are very easy to say, but very hard to live by. Again, read … read … read!! The bible is great for this;-)
I have found a great online tool in http://www.biblegateway.com/ you can search keywords in a bunch of different versions of the bible. NKJV, NIV, NLT, Young’s Literal, Darby’s … check them out. That’s great for fast searches, but don’t ignore sitting down with the word and a highlighter!! Scribble your brains out!! And when you come back … you’ll find you scribble even more … life and the book go hand in hand!!
Proverbs 15:5 –

*** me included:-) Double check what I say … I just ramble from time to time and many not be on the right track. BTW … I don’t mind correction either!!
