2 John 1:8-9 –
<8> – Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
<9> – Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
This ties into yesterday and the day before … what is the “full reward”?? Is it blessings on earth or blessings in heaven?? I believe it’s both. We must be on our toes and be watchful … not ignoring Gods direction or guidance!! It’s amazing what we miss by not looking, be it a blessing, a crazy street person or a dancing bear;-)
Verse 9 gets harsh!! But again it’s reality … when we wander our relationship is gone!! Having been there myself … God does not give up on us … He just taps us from time to time and see if we get the hint!! … Get the hint!! It’s simple … starts FIRST with CONFESSION … then read the bible, pray, worship .. and pray … oops forgot to be open and receptive to Gods message or signs!!
