James 4:11 –
Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.
First comment as I revisit this section is that I see more and more of a Jewish slant that James brings in his message to a relatively small congregation.
Anyway – this one is simple. Don’t gossip or judge. It is not our place to do so. With God as Judge, you need not worry yourself about this. The is enough to concern yourself with as you judge yourself and grow spiritually.
James 4 finishes with verse 17 and the thought: “Remember it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
Tough words for life … but important to remember.
