Best Seller Yet Rarely Mentioned As Such

John 21:25 –

Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

This is the last line of this book and when you think about it we really don’t have much record of Jesus’ life. His birth is well documented, some minor snippets from when He was 12 and finally the last 3 or so years, other than that there is no record of His life. Granted we get the great parts, at least the ones we need to know, but what about the mundane? Did Jesus perform miracles before turning water to wine? Was He truly a carpenter or did He study diligently in the synagogues?

After His death there have been so many books written about Jesus and how we interpret His life or how His death changes people’s lives today. It becomes daunting, especially when you are a poor reader like myself. Everyone is recommending books, devotionals and guides to help this area or that one. But with all that the main fall back is the Bible, because without a solid foundation in reading that book others could be misdirecting you.

Out of all the books there are, the Bible is the best seller of all time. If you think of how many languages it’s been translated to and how many different versions of each languages there exists it is mind boggling to understand the numbers. There are no other books really even close. From a quick Google search it looks as though The Tale of Two Cities is one of the top selling books at 200million copies. The bible has approximately 4.7 billion copies or over 4 times more than the top ten sellers combined. So as you search for knowledge of Jesus and God keep the “cornerstone” the Bible.
