Revelation 21:4 –
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
In the end we all get to hang with God and Jesus. You’ll notice in this they omit the temple, since there is no longer a reason for it since God and man walk together. The temple was the “interface” between God and man, we saw with the death of Jesus that curtain between us and God was torn from the top down.
We have the interface to God direct now, but the difference is we now can walk with God as redeemed man. There will be “no sorrow or crying or pain” in this new life. I wonder if “pain” means we can crash without worry of breaking bones!!
As you read the last chapters of the Bible you get to see the mirror image of the Old and New Testaments. Genesis starts with God and righteous man in paradise and ends with God and redeemed man in paradise. PK did an awesome study which showed how the two paths were similar, reaching to the point of Jesus. The OT rise to Jesus you get God and righteous man (Gen 1-2), Satan and sin enter (Gen 3-5), the world is judged and destroyed (Gen 6-9), one world system of government (Gen 10-11), the 12 tribes and Israel (Gen 12 – Malachi) which all point to Jesus. The NT mirrors this with Jesus (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), the 12 disciples and the Church (Acts-Jude), one world system of government (Rev 6-19), the world is judged and destroyed (Rev 6-19), Satan and sin exit (Rev 20) and finally God and redeemed man live in paradise (Rev 21-22). How cool is that when you see it mapped before you. Pastor Kevin puts these side by side and it becomes obvious the correlations between the two parts of the Bible.
In this chapter Satan and those who did not submit to Jesus get thrown into the lake of fire for the “second death”. This has always intrigued me since earlier we see evil being tormented for eternity and this implies it’s over quick. Either way if you have a chance of avoiding this ugly future, it would be an easy choice. Imagine all the hurt and pain this world has being gone! Your choice is door number 1 or 2, but you actually know what IS behind each door. It’s your personal choice and no one else can do it for you. Pick eternity with Jesus or eternity in pain and agony. The choice is simple for me, hope it has been for you also!
