Been thinking about business and how God works within them.
The first interview I watched was with John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods (link
below):

The first thing that caught me was how much of their market
is exactly the market he mentioned. He also indirectly goes into details on why
there are perceived difficulties in the free market capitalism. It all boils
down to envy!! And what does the last commandment say?
On all ends of capitalism, coveting creeps in either on the
side of the consumer or the other businesses. Where capitalism has failed today
is big business has started to control the market via government regulations to
block entry into the market. This is from envy of their position of power and
wanting to block anyone from competing.
As Mr. Mackay notes the intellectuals block the market and
manipulate it to control the power and money the CEO’s make. This blocks entry
into the market through creating road blocks that help the consumer or the
employee. What is missed is a true free market will always reign supreme if God
is followed and covetness is forced out.
I believe the most misrepresented “monopolist” is John D. Rockefeller
whose personal life was never mentioned. Only thing we are taught was that he
was a greedy capitalist who monopolized gas. We were not taught that he was a
Christian or that he was one of the greatest philanthropist in history. Watch
the link below:

You will see that Mr. Rockefeller gave over half his
billions away. He started young giving and continued. His model was Jesus’
teaching from Matthew 13:12 that more given the more abundance one shall have.
Mr. Rockefeller lived that. He became a monopoly not because he horded it all,
but rather gave to the station owners and employees. He gave the consumer an
inexpensive product with vast distribution. He gave back to the community in
abundance. God rewarded him with more.
Envy destroyed this legacy and attempted to dismantle
his business. Not saying there were not problems with Standard Oil and how they
conducted business. But because of a distorted intellectual view based on envy,
all the GOOD Mr. Rockefeller did was for the most lost in history.
