Weigh All Advice With Scripture

Job 5:3 – “I have seen that
fools may be successful for the moment, but then comes sudden disaster.”

Last re-blog of 2010 study of Job

Eliphaz is continuing to talk with Job through this chapter
… he is suggesting what Job needs to do and how he needs to approach God to
present his case. Eliphaz help sounds godly, but is not when you dig deep into
the advice. Eliphaz mixes fact with fiction to create justification which
sounds correct.

Watch for this kids … people do it all the time. Some will
mix fact and fiction and confuse the truth. In fact you will do this from time
to time to get your way … don’t!!

Now we look at some of the facts Eliphaz states to Job …
this is one which I liked. How many times we go off “half cocked”??
Just doing something without planning or thinking about what needs to be done!
This is foolish … when we look at this in a biblical sense, how many times do
we break from God and have success?? Our sin leads to something positive in our
minds, we get what we wanted … suddenly it’s gone. Sin will make you happy in
the short term, but our lives will accumulate bad very quickly and the “good
times” will end quickly.

They have no meaning and we never meant to be in Gods eyes.
If there is a question of “right and wrong” go to the bible, your
parents, your preachers and friends you trust before taking a wrong path. God
has put good people in your life to help.

Proverbs 2:3-6

3 Cry out for insight,

     and ask for understanding.

4 Search for them as you would for silver;

     seek them like hidden treasures.

5 Then you will understand what it means to
fear the Lord,

and you will gain knowledge of God.

6 For the Lord grants wisdom!

 From his mouth come knowledge
and understanding.
