These are two reasons I am looking at reading the KJV to see
if it is the one true translation. I will embed links so you can follow the “parallel”
translations. First is Isaiah 7:14 which states in the KJV:
Therefore the Lord himself shall
give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall
call his name Immanuel.
Notice the Voice says “maiden” and the CJB reads “young
woman”, the NIV and ESB has this but is footnoted for the NIV as “young woman”
also the Voice footnotes it that Greek manuscripts read “virgin”. The argument
is the more modern translations are trying to “negate” the virgin birth and if
you notice the theology gets moved where some versions actually call Joseph
Jesus’ father and not Mary’s husband.
The question is since the CJB, which is my “go to” for OT
translations has “young woman” I tend to believe the literal translation there
and since the Greek may have the NT theology applied there may be a difference.
The other comment is for the time that this was written a “young woman” was
implied to be a virgin.
Titus 2:13 is another one that we need to look at:
Looking for
that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ;
Notice the other translations remove the word “the” and
place “our”. Again the subtitle change is not a big deal until you apply it to
the COEXIST banner where there are multiple paths to salvation. So “our” God
means other gods exist and have equal power. “The” God means the one and only,
therefore God.

research on KJV or NKJV or another easier read of the KJV in modern language.
