What “Secrets” Do YOU NOT Keep and What “Truths” Do YOU Keep Secret?

Revelation 10:4 –

When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Keep secret what the seven thunders said, and do not write it down.”

Keep it secret! Even with a voice from heaven telling you this could you actually keep it in? What if it mean saving many more people with this knowledge? That’s a tough call, since unfortunately “secrets” seem to get exposed eventually. But apparently John took God serious and never mentioned the “thunders”. There have been many people speculating what they were, but ultimately we will most likely never know.

Over time many have speculated what these were and many have claimed “God reveled” the hidden secrets. Now I am not one to “judge” but I find it hard to believe that anyone would suddenly get these secrets after 2000 years of silence. People who say this believe they have the capacity to understand God, over anyone else. Heck there are some mysteries even to Jesus. Matthew 24:36 has Jesus even saying he does not know the hour when He will return. “Only God knows” is a truth we need to understand and not worry about.

Sometimes I pray for the ability to see prophecies, but at the same time that responsibility may drive me nuts. Could you imagine seeing what John saw and having people dismiss it as folly. I could see everyone now saying you just had a bad dream or accusing me of “tripping”! It would be difficult to know the truth yet not have anyone believe it. Think about today and how many still dismiss John’s writings. Would you tell everyone you could and not worry about their opinion of you?

If you answered yes, then do you do it with your faith today? Do you share the salvation and freedom from these prophecies or keep it to yourself? These are tough questions to ask yourself and if I met you out of the blue on the street I would be hard pressed to share my faith. I would not want to offend you or get you upset. Oh how the “political correctness” has suppressed one’s ability to express their faith!! The fact that we would worry about offending someone is a joke! If their car was on fire would you worry about offending them to save them? Really it’s the same thing!
