Psalm 126:3 –
Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us! What joy!
Can you really say this in your heart? Do you give credit for the amazing things to God or to yourself? It’s funny how when things are going good, we tend to forget to give glory to God … but when things are bad, we are on our knees and wondering if we are being punished. I can say much of the time I do exactly this. Then I sometimes hit the other extreme and start thanking God for everything that happens and assuming it was His divine influence.
Funny how we work with God when it comes to our day to day lives. We either forget to give thanks and assume all the credit or blame Him for everything that happens. I have discovered as I get older I can’t eat what I use to! I kept asking God for help, but really what goes in and how I burn the energy is the real problem. We live in a world of many dynamics, some of which God controls and some of which just happen. I have a hard time believing that God created this world as a stage for His show!
No, creation is what it is, the dynamic of nature is as designed. Sure there are floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters, but they all serve a purpose. Sure God can do things alter events, but I believe He is more hands off that many like to think. Not that He is not present most of the time, He just lets things roll as designed. Now does that mean when good things happen His hand is not in it? In no way do I mean that! Does that mean we do not need to thank Him for the beautiful sunrise? No He made creation that provided that sun rise.
Now I wandered down an odd path with may contradict some people “theology”. We need to be filled with joy because the amazing things he has done for us is creation. Sure He may surprise us from time to time with something personal. But just look at what we have! I don’t care if you are worth millions or living on the street, God has given you life and creation to enjoy!! So live with joy for those amazing things and not your current circumstances!!
