Exodus 19:20 –
The Lord came down on the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses climbed the mountain.
This is the invite to speak with God. Moses gets to meet God face to face. What would you do if given the chance?? Ask for something, ask questions about why or how, ask for forgiveness, ask for blessings on friends or would you sit in his holiness and listen? Then the question is what should you do if before God?
If God came to you today I believe it would not be to answer your questions but to ask you to do something. Christianity is not just “ask in the name of Jesus and you shall receive what you want”! There is another side to the coin and it requires us to respond to God’s prompts. When God asks you to do something, the answer should be “yes sir, is that all”. I know I have failed at listening and obeying, although I do ask for things all the time.
Get ready for tomorrow, that’s the big one in scripture!! Because we know why Moses is going up the mountain!! At least we should know why, it is the pinnacle of God’s law! But that’s tomorrow.
