What Do You Need For Your Faith To Be Strong?

Exodus 14:31 –

When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

Faith is easy to do when you see the sea parted and you walk on dry ground and then watch you pursuers have the sea come down on them and kill them. If God did that for you surely would believe in his greatness or would you? In this instance the people of Israel had short memories as we will see. But you know, that instance happens often in the Bible and in our lives. Sometimes it takes generations and other times it happens very quickly, but we always seem to drift away.

Sometimes I think God was disappointed with them having done these great miracles and everyone turned so quickly. Maybe that is why something so grand has not been repeated! Think about how many small signs you get and see and the next day just turn away! Rejection is something God deals with on a daily basis.

Walk in faith and live your life like God just split the sea for you and all will be good in the eyes of the Lord. Note, it will not always be rosy, but God will be happy. Think about the time God spoke to you in some way, and hold on to that. No matter if it was a passage you randomly opened to that spoke directly to your heart or some traveling preacher who said words you needed to hear that day. Don’t drift and lose faith, but stay firm even when you appear to be wandering in a wilderness!
