Malachi 3:1 – This chapter has a bunch of cool stuff … let’s look at verse 1:
“Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
This was written 700 years before Christ … read it again, is there one “messenger” or is there two?? In these days a messenger was sent before the king to ready the town … John the Baptist came to get everyone ready for Jesus … and Jesus came to get everyone ready for God.
The first messenger is John … the “messenger of the covenant” is Jesus …
Now Mat11:10, Mark 1:2 and Luke 7:27 all quote this passage and say it’s from “scriptures” … after talking with a Jewish Christian he said the first 5 books of our bible are all that’s taught. The only ones who go deeper are the priests … I can see why these scriptures are no longer taught … and why the Pharisees did not like Jesus. He was in their scriptures and can not be denied. So … to keep the tradition, stop teaching from that.
Proverbs 29:11 –
“Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.”
now I vent … oops;-)
