Ecclesiastes 11:5&6 –
<5> As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. <6> Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.
These bring wisdom to me as far as making sure we don’t just focus on one source of income. Just because your job is done doesn’t mean that’s the end of your day!! Doesn’t matter if it’s profitable or just gaining knowledge, don’t waste your time. For the business, as we struggle through each month there is hope from Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Specifically for the kids, Verse 9 “Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.”
This is not your ticket to do whatever you want! It’s your ticket to enjoy life, but not to ignore God in you ventures. One thing I use to say to myself as a young person, when I am old will I regret doing this or not doing this?? That became my thought process, which I suggest you add, because when I die will I regret explaining this to God or thanking him for allowing me the ability to do this??
2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”…. Believe it or not you CAN have fun doing this!!
