Psalms 66 \u2013 68<\/h1>\n

Notice something in the next few Psalms. Verse 66:4 is the first mention:<\/p>\n

The entire earth will\u00a0bow down to<\/em>\u00a0worship You
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and will sing glory-songs to You;
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0they will sing praises to Your name!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It seems like there is a subtle move from God\u2019s chosen people to the all the nations. Is this setting us up for Jesus or has God always been there for every nation? We look back at how he blessed King Hiram but granted that was after this was written, so who knows.<\/p>\n

Verse 67:4 is very similar:<\/p>\n

\n

May\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0nations celebrate\u00a0together,<\/em>\u00a0singing joy-filled songs\u00a0of praise to You<\/em>
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0because You judge the people fairly
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and give guidance to\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0the nations of the earth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Is this acknowledging that God is with all nations and not just Israel? I know the OT gives us the impression that most nations worship pagan gods and worthless idols, with Israel being the only nation in God\u2019s favor. But when nations honor and praise God, they are blessed also, just as our nation once was.<\/p>\n

Verse 68:3 focuses on our personal relationship with God:<\/p>\n

\n

But may those who are righteous rejoice
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0in the presence of the True God\u2014so may they be glad and rejoice.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Yes, let them celebrate with joy!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The key to the relationship with God is a pure heart. God cannot stand sin and therefore we need to be cleansed before God. In OT days that required an animal sacrifice. Today Jesus took the place as the final sacrifice. Today we just need to repent and confess in the name of Jesus to be \u201crighteous\u201d before God and to be in His presence.
