\n24 \u2013 26<\/p>\n
Verse 24:1 is something we really need to understand:<\/p>\n
The earth and all
\nthat\u2019s upon it belong to the Eternal.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The
\nworld is His, with every living creature on it.<\/p>\n
Everything is God\u2019s, we own nothing. To put
\nthis into perspective when people start talking about the government owning our
\nhomes, we get upset. We can\u2019t imagine that something would be able to take what
\nwe feel we own at their free will. Well when you think about it God is the same
\nway. The only difference is God is not seen and therefore people don\u2019t take
\nthis serious, where the government has guns and the ability to take things by
\nforce.<\/p>\n
When all is said and done and we look at
\nall the rich people in the world, the only consistent thing is they all die and
\nleave what the acquired. The only \u201cold\u201d money I can think of are the
\nRothschild\u2019s and that is only 300 or so years old. After that it\u2019s more stories
\nof families blowing it after the \u201cresponsible\u201d one dies. In the end we own
\nnothing and are only borrowing it for a very short time. Once we accept that we
\ncan be more thankful for what we have here on this earth.<\/p>\n
Psalm 25 is the ABC Psalm which most
\ntranslations do not pick up. In Hebrew the first word starts with the first
\nletter of the alphabet. Unfortunately with most Hebrew to English translations
\nthis gets missed, since our words don\u2019t always line up. The Voice has done a
\ngreat job attempting to do this. A few notes, in the original text there are a
\nfew missing letters, showing that life is not always orderly. Also, in the
\nEnglish we are missing W, X, Y and Z. Finally, not how David handle adversity,
\nhe focuses on fixing him and not the problem.<\/p>\n
Verse 25:4 jumps out to me:<\/p>\n
DEMONSTRATE Your
\nways, O Eternal One.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Teach
\nme to understand<\/i> so I can follow.<\/p>\n
Understanding God\u2019s word and desires
\nsometimes is not easy. I have struggled with \u201cprosperity\u201d for years, with
\nimages of what would be God\u2019s plan. I finally have had to take to heart the
\nprevious verse. I struggle with trying to regain lost family riches, yet have
\nnot accepted the gifts God has given us today. We are in a tough time, on
\nunemployment and almost out of money, yet a pending sale of two homes turn this
\naround to the point where I can be more selective on the work I do. So although
\nthings seem awful, God has protected us and led us to his light.<\/p>\n
Verse 26:2 ties into the other verse quite
\nwell:<\/p>\n
Put me on trial
\nand examine me, O Eternal One!
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Search
\nme through and through<\/i>\u2014from my deepest longings to every thought that
\ncrosses my mind.<\/p>\n
Think about asking this. Would you want to
\nbe before God today on trial for your life? Initially I would say no, but
\nimagine what you would learn!! You could fix your flaws and serve God more
\npurely. That is something that is tough, but would be more valuable to us that
\ngold. Character matters in life more than money. <\/p>\n
For an example of this just look at the
\nbanking sector today. They are taking advantage of peoples desires for more and
\nthen when it falls apart the government bails them out. You would think that
\nwould have caused them to examine their practices. Instead they are back at it
\nand just trying to defraud more. Oh I pray I am examined and put on trial so I
\ncan understand what I am doing wrong. <\/p>\n
