Verse 56:1 opens with an awesome comment:<\/p>\n
Eternal One:<\/b>
\nTake care that you<\/i> do what is right and fair,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0because before you know it, I will come to save you;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Soon
\nyou will see how I rescue.<\/p>\n
This is something we all need to consider;
\nwhen the chips are down and we are in a hole God will rescue us. Not saying it
\nwill be tomorrow, we see that is never the case with God. The second 40 years
\nof Moses\u2019 life he was stuck in the desert learning to humble himself. Joseph
\nwas sold as a slave for 20 years before his purpose was revealed. <\/p>\n
Life often sucks and we seem to think God
\nis silent, we are in bondage with debt or in a dead end job. What is God\u2019s
\npurpose? Maybe God\u2019s purpose is to teach you something or develop a necessary
\nskill. I know recently during my trials, God has been teaching me to be more
\nfaithful that he will provide. <\/p>\n
In 2007 we saw the economy turn and tried
\nto ride it out on credit, not thinking it would go as long as it did. I had
\nbeen out of engineering for 7 years and had little hope getting back into that
\ngame. In 2008 our debt peaked in December and at the same time I got a junior
\nengineering position (most of my peers could have been my children). Today
\nafter long hard struggling with paying down debt and settling obligations, we
\nare now out of credit card debt!!<\/p>\n
As we dive into this prophecy we see two
\ndistinct splits, the chastising the ones who left and giving hope to the
\nfaithful. Verse 57:8 God calls out hypocrisy:<\/p>\n
You declare
\nyour obedience to Me, but<\/i> all hidden away\u2014as if I couldn\u2019t see;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0behind the very door and doorpost, you set up your shrine.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You
\nturned your back on Me and snuck off to be intimate with other deities;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0you made promises to them and bound yourself to them all tight and
\nclose.<\/p>\n
I think we tend to believe there is one
\nGod, which there is, but the \u201cdeities\u201d may in fact be fallen angels and not
\njust manufactured idols. Follow me here, Satan and his cast of many wants to be
\nworshiped as God so they will do what it takes to distract us. The newest one
\nis \u201cThe Secret\u201d which did explain God to me, but has a hidden danger of trying
\nto elevate us to a \u201cgod\u201d. See if you can use God\u2019s natural laws to your
\nadvantage, suddenly God is less important. <\/p>\n
They key is don\u2019t put a fa\u00e7ade of following
\nJesus and then worship some idol or yourself in the background. This is the
\ndanger that God was chastising Israel about, they lost focus. DON\u2019T DO IT, KEEP
\nIN THE WORD!!! Test everything outside of the Bible on pure scripture and not
\nfeelings. Feelings will get you in a bunch of trouble, into bad relationships,
\ndebt and idol worship. Learn to test them also!!<\/p>\n
