Verse 51:4 raises an eyebrow:<\/p>\n
It was against
\nYou, only You, that I sinned,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for
\nI have done what You say is wrong, right before Your eyes.
\nSo when You speak, You are in the right.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When
\nYou judge, Your judgments are pure and true.<\/p>\n
This was David\u2019s Psalm after Nathan called
\nhim on his affair with Bathsheba. I say this is wrong from the first line. Sure
\nDavid sinned against God, but NOT only God. He ordered her husband Uriah the
\nHittite into harm\u2019s way so he would die to cover up his affair. He wronged his
\nmany wives by lusting after yet another. His actions set Israel on an odd twist
\nbecause of dysfunction in his family. Granted his in ability to be faithful to
\none woman was there way before Bathsheba and may be the root of his family
\nproblem. The affair just tipped the scales in his families problems.<\/p>\n
Sure God likes to use the least likely to
\nshow his glory, and He does it here too. Think about it, David was a lowly
\nshepherd and became a mighty warrior and leader of Israel. In later life he
\nbecame a murderer and an adulterer, yet still is the line our savior Jesus came
\nfrom. If he had been faithful and honorable, would Jesus have been needed?
\nWould David\u2019s character spread across the nation?<\/p>\n
Verse 53:1 talks about people faith:<\/p>\n
The foolish are
\nconvinced deep down that there is no God.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Their
\nsouls are polluted, and they commit gross injustice.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Not
\none of them does good.<\/p>\n
As you know I am one to focus on the
\natheistic bend in science today. Men like Copernicus broke from the traditional
\nbeliefs of the church, but did not bend his faith. Today it seems like the main
\nrole of science is to disprove God and crush religion. Don\u2019t believe me study
\nJerry Coyne. Over 20% of his work attempts to prove religion to be \u201cperverse\u201d.
\nOne of the greatest minds of all times was a theist and Albert Einstein focused
\non the NOW and things we could change.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s foolish to look at nature which shows
\ncause and effect work. Science is be able to date the universe and earth
\nshowing there was a beginning that just happened. Now without ever observing
\nsomething spontaneously happening in nature we are led to believe that nature
\noccurred from a multitude of \u201cBig Bangs.\u201d You have the cosmological Big Bang
\nwhere the universe came from nothing. Next you have the biological Big Bang
\nwhere life started from inorganic matter. Next you have the anthropological Big
\nBang where this life became the diversity we see today, from bacteria to man.
\nFinally you have the psychological Big Bang where our minds developed conscious
\nand the ability to think outside survival mode. It\u2019s impossible to observe any
\nof this in nature today and just take the models science provides without a
\ncreator on faith that it happened their way.<\/p>\n
