Psalm 108:1-2 –<\/strong><\/p>\n

<1>My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!
<2> Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In all honesty how many of us can really say this? How confident is your heart with Jesus? Would you sing praise anytime and anywhere? Is your faith enough to \u201cwake the dawn\u201d with racket? How about just talking to someone on the bench next to you? See it\u2019s difficult to nail down for many reasons.<\/p>\n

First, honestly you can\u2019t freak people out with you over exuberance for God. I think of a story from Vern when her love for Jesus was rekindled. He was sitting down with an older Jewish man who suggested she seek \u201cprofessional\u201d help. This was a man who presumably knows the story of David and his boldly singing praises.\n<\/p>\n

Second, those of us who don\u2019t want to offend others. Boy this has become the battle cry of recent days, we don\u2019t want to offend this \u201cgroup\u201d or that one. A great example is after 9\/11 where we don\u2019t want to offend the majority of Middle Eastern people by profiling so we take it to the absurd opposite end and profile grannies!! We end up doing this with our faith also, we keep it under a bushel! We don\u2019t want to make someone feel uncomfortable being who they are.\n<\/p>\n

Finally, we have a difficulty supporting our positions. Think about who knows the Bible better than most? Satan! People can take things out of context and twist it in knots to show the \u201cinconsistencies\u201d of the Bible. Even after reading it over again, I still question some things. You have to be able to step back and realize the time span this book was written. Also, you may have to read other books to get a \u201ccontext\u201d for a certain passage. I am not saying you need a degree from seminary school to witness, but don\u2019t worry about defending your faith with little knowledge.
